Van den Heever Attorneys Incorporated was founded in 2024 by Rudi van den Heever. Rudi’s experience in the legal profession extends over a period of more than 28 years.
He obtained the BCom (Law) and LLB degrees from the University of Pretoria during 1997 and 2001 respectively.
From 1997 to 2000 he served as the judge’s registrar for Judge DJ Curlewis, a respected and legendary figure on the bench in the Pretoria High Court. During 2000 to 2001 he completed his articles as candidate attorney with Hack Stupel and Ross Attorneys in Pretoria. He was admitted as an attorney during January 2002.
Later in 2002 he was also admitted as an advocate of the High Court of South Africa. He completed his pupilage at the Pretoria Society of Advocates (the “Pretoria Bar”) and practiced as an advocate and member of the Pretoria Bar from 2002 to 2017 . During this period he gained valuable and extensive experience in South African procedural- and substantive law and litigation. He specialized in commercial- and banking law and acted as counsel on behalf of various indivuals and corporate entities, including the four major banks in South Africa.
During 2017 he rejoined the sidebar as an attorney. From 2017 to 2024 he practiced as an attorney at Savage Jooste and Adams Incorporated in Pretoria. He continued to specialize in commercial law, as well as insurance law and public- and professional liability litigation, representing several of the leading insurers in South Africa, as well as corporate- and individual role players in the architectural-, auditing-, construction-, engineering- and other major professional- and retail industries.
